ZeroAvia and Safran have entered into a partnership to develop hydrogen-electric propulsion technologies for aviation. This collaboration draws on the advanced expertise of ZeroAvia in aerospace fuel cell systems and Safran’s historic legacy in electrification, propulsion, clean aviation innovation, and design as well as test activities of aero-native fuel cell experience. The two companies will work collaboratively to speed up hydrogen-electric power technology development for a number of aviation applications.
It is well to be noted that this partnership between Safran and ZeroAvia on hydrogen-electric propulsion technologies will serve as a catalyzer of the maturing of technologies when it comes to fuel cell electric propulsion systems. Specifically, the collaborators will explore working together on extremely advanced high-temperature fuel cells, which will pave the way for potential demanding aviation uses.
