AI Summary

Monter will collaborate very closely with CRC Evans to execute the first Hydrogen Valley pipeline project of Europe that will promote the development of a cutting-edge cross-border energy network from the Adriatic coast in Croatia to Central and Eastern Europe.

Apparently, the hydrogen project constitutes a part of the wider European North Adriatic Hydrogen Valley – NAHV that includes Slovenia and Croatia as well as the Friuli Venezia Giulia region of Italy. It provides a foundation for hydrogen transport and transition to energy in the region and also strengthens interconnections within the European market.

Interestingly, this first Hydrogen Valley pipeline project of Europe is setting the stage for the European hydrogen future, leveraging the global experience of advanced welding technologies of CRC and regional leadership of Monter as the primary contractor throughout pipeline construction, supporting delivery of critical hydrogen-ready infrastructure.

The network covers over 200 kilometers and consists of 3 large pipeline sections that require unique engineering and technical expertise and also includes key cross-border infrastructure such as hydrogen-ready pipeline systems, with parts of the pipeline built so as to allow for the future transport of almost 100% hydrogen. It indeed makes the project the new standard for modern energy networks in Europe, as each of the three stages will be completed and shall be fully operational by the 2026 end.

Notably, CRC Evans is working in close partnership, leveraging its advanced welding knowledge, which is critical to meeting the rigorous, high-compliance demands of local as well as national hydrogen standards.

This project is an important landmark not only for CRC, but for the wider energy transition of Europe. The establishment of the first European Hydrogen Valley shows commitment to diversify capabilities and to create technologies that are essential for future energy systems. Together with Monter, CRC is tackling the difficulties of hydrogen transportation while contributing towards the infrastructure that will boost the energy resilience of Europe and facilitate secure, dependable transportation of hydrogen at scale.

As per Monter, they have worked very closely with CRC Evans, and their contribution has been vital to the accomplishment of this project. Monter adds that CRC has been the ideal partner over the years, always providing world-class knowledge in welding technologies and helping them achieve the highest standards that are needed for infrastructure plans of this magnitude.

Strategic partnerships like this one are indeed essential for the development of the energy sector in Europe, for raising the bar in terms of quality and safety as well as innovation, and for building a solid basis for future generations of hydrogen projects.

It is worth noting that with over 90 years of technical expertise, CRC Evans is continuing to expand its global reach to meet changing energy and infrastructure needs. With operations in over 100 countries, the company supports complex onshore and offshore projects around the world, delivering specialty welding, which is high-performance, in addition to coating solutions across oil and gas, nuclear, renewables, hydrogen, and carbon capture as well as critical infrastructure.
