AI Summary

Stargate Hydrogen announced on October 19, 2026, that it has signed an agreement with Cummins Inc. in order to become the authorised aftermarket vendor when it comes to the legacy HySTAT alkaline electrolyzers stack business. It is well to be noted that Stargate Hydrogen will produce and deliver standard replacement stacks and corresponding services for over 400 installed systems, representing over 1,000 stacks in 65 countries.

This agreement marks a significant milestone for Stargate Hydrogen, strengthening its position as a trusted provider of industrial electrolysis technology and establishing the company as the approved vendor for one of the largest alkaline electrolyzer fleets globally.

With decades of experience behind the HySTAT Alkaline Electrolyzers platform, Stargate Hydrogen will guarantee that customers continue to uphold the performance and prolong the life of the system to the same high standards. The new business significantly grows the company’s customer base and enhances its position in existing hydrogen markets and with globally renowned industrial gas companies that operate hydrogen production systems worldwide.

The deal also marks the company’s shift from technology development to industrial scale deployment. Founded in 2021, Stargate Hydrogen has steadily been ramping up its manufacturing capacity to deliver large-scale hydrogen production.

Says Marko Virkebau, Stargate Hydrogen Chief Executive Officer, “This agreement is first and foremost about maturity. We are proud to continue the legacy of the HySTAT platform, which has served customers reliably over multiple decades and has been proven through hundreds of thousands of operating hours in real industrial conditions. Being selected by Cummins to carry this responsibility demonstrates confidence in our engineering, our manufacturing capabilities, and our commitment to supporting customers for the long term.”

The executive director of electrolyzer engineering for Accelera by Cummins, Tim Proctor, said that “We selected Stargate Hydrogen because we believe they have the technical expertise, commitment, and long-term perspective required to support the customers.”

Stargate Hydrogen is the designated aftermarket vendor for the installed base of HySTAT Alkaline Electrolysers, creating constant demand for replacement stacks and a greater presence in existing hydrogen markets. The company hopes for the transition to encourage steady development and create new possibilities for future deployment of its own exclusive electrolysis technologies.
