Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV), which is part of Jameel Energy, has teamed up with Envision Energy to advance the H2 Cumbuco green ammonia project, located in the Port of Pecém, Brazil. Envision Energy was selected as a strategic partner due to its global leadership in building fully sustainable energy systems—solar, wind, and green hydrogen—powered by advanced AI.

This collaboration marks a major milestone for the H2 Cumbuco green ammonia project, which FRV has been developing since 2023. The initiative is well underway, with progress in permitting, engineering, and securing essential resources such as land and water. The goal is to construct a facility capable of 500 megawatts of electrolysis, integrated with a dedicated ammonia production plant. It’s expected to be operational by 2030 and will export green ammonia to Brazil, Europe, and Asia.

FRV brings extensive experience in renewable energy, with 3 gigawatts of operational clean energy and storage assets globally. The company has a strong presence in Europe, the Middle East, Australia, and Latin America, and is also actively involved in renewable hydrogen projects, including two government-supported initiatives in Spain.

Envision Energy adds its deep expertise in executing complex, AI-driven renewable energy projects. The company recently completed the world’s largest off-grid green hydrogen and ammonia plant and launched a green maritime ammonia fueling station in Dalian, China. These achievements strengthen its position as a capable partner for the H2 Cumbuco green ammonia project.

Henry Peng,Senior Vice President and President of Latin America and the European Region, stated, “This collaboration is more than a step toward decarbonization; it’s a model for how the global energy transition can be operationalized. Together with FRV, we are reshaping the entire renewable energy system and advancing Brazil’s sustainable energy infrastructure.”

Felipe Hernández, Chief Innovation Officer at FRV, mentioned, “At FRV, we firmly believe that the development of renewable hydrogen and its derivatives is a fundamental pillar in advancing global decarbonization. We see Brazil as a country with the potential to become a global leader in this sector, thanks to its strategic geographic position, strong commitment to the energy transition, and broad public support. We are excited about the potential that this alliance with Envision can bring to the H2 Cumbuco project, aiming to provide clean, competitive, and sustainable energy solutions, supporting Brazil’s economic and environmental development.”

Aligned with Brazil’s national low-carbon strategy, the H2 Cumbuco green ammonia project will contribute significantly to its renewable energy goals ahead of COP30, enhancing Brazil’s role in the global clean energy market.
