Sungrow Research Center has established a European Hydrogen Technology Laboratory in Munich, Germany. This reinforces the company’s commitment to global green hydrogen innovation. The European Hydrogen Technology lab in Germany serves as a key hub for advancing water electrolysis and Power-to-X (P2X) technologies. The lab aligns with Europe’s stringent hydrogen development standards. It is strategically located at Munich Airport Business Park.
Advanced, Safety-Focused Facility Compliant with German Regulations
The European Hydrogen Technology lab in Germany is designed as a state-of-the-art, safety-first facility, fully compliant with German regulations (ASiG, GefStoffV, and BG RCI). The lab is equipped with an 8-fold ventilation system and real-time hydrogen/oxygen monitoring.Â
The platform integrates material fabrication, component testing, and digital data analysis, which forms a closed-loop R&D chain from material development to system validation. The lab ensures secure operations for its diverse, international team members.
Specialised Facilities for 3D Printing, Microscopy, and PEM Assembly
Currently, the facility includes four specialized labs – Physical, Optical, Chemical, and Electrochemical labs. This features 3D printing, SEM microscopy, and high-precision PEM assembly capabilities. The laboratory has reserved ample space to accommodate future technological developments and testing needs and is designed with significant expansion capacity. It leverages globally renowned test stations to deliver pressurised electrochemical characterisation with unmatched accuracy.
The European Hydrogen Technology Laboratory has joined its industry-leading 30MW water electrolysis hydrogen production empirical platform, key materials research center and product research center to form a complete innovation chain. This is a part of Sungrow Hydrogen’s global technology strategy.Â
Sungrow Hydrogen, in collaboration with Sungrow Research Center, is tackling critical industry challenges to accelerate the commercialisation of green hydrogen solutions worldwide. The company performed it through localised research and international collaboration. This strategic investment strengthens its technological leadership while driving the hydrogen industry forward.
