Intelligent Energy (IE), a top maker of new fuel cell technologies, has signed a distribution agreement with Pneumatic and Hydraulic Company (PHC), which makes custom-engineered systems for the energy and industrial sectors in the US. PHC also designs, integrates, and builds these systems.
This partnership will use PHC’s Total Hydrogen Solutions division, which is focused on hydrogen, to create hydrogen-based power systems for backup and off-grid power needs. This will give industrial and commercial customers a way to deal with problems with grid reliability and an alternative to diesel generators.
In North America, PHC is now also a distributor of IE’s POWER and DRIVE fuel cell systems.
This strategic partnership will help Intelligent Energy grow in the US by giving them access to new customers and markets through PHC’s client network. PHC’s range of services for fuel cell customers, from design and integration to maintenance and technical support, will also help.
“This next step in the relationship with PHC is a key milestone for IE as we scale-up our activities in the U.S.,” said Greg Harris, CCO of Intelligent Energy. “Their technical expertise and strong customer relationships make them an ideal partner as we work to meet increasing demand for clean, reliable power.”
Bobby Hunt, General Manager of Texas from PHC said “Collaborations of this nature are a great example of the alliances needed to move clean energy forward. We look forward to the continued success with IE – they bring significant value to this partnership through their innovative fuel cell design and global reach.”
The deal is a big step forward for Intelligent Energy’s plan to develop internationally and its promise to make off-grid and portable power applications more environmentally friendly. It comes after the recent news that IE’s POWER P4 fuel cell has been approved for sale in the US.
