Fisher German has been hired to offer expert land and valuation services for the planned H2East hydrogen pipeline by Cadent. This is a large infrastructure project that will connect Immingham in the Humber to Newark in Nottinghamshire.
Fisher German’s Newark and Doncaster offices will assist Worley, an engineering contractor in charge of front-end engineering design and the Development Consent Order process, by providing land rights advice, land referencing, and valuation, as well as landowner engagement.
The planned H2East hydrogen pipeline will be about 150 kilometers long and will be part of a larger hydrogen network that will cover the North East, Yorkshire, and the East Midlands. It is meant to help businesses that make steel, chemicals, and electricity.
If finished, the infrastructure should be able to produce almost 11 gigawatts of hydrogen, which would help meet the emissions reduction goals and at the same time create jobs in industrial areas.
Mark Gilkes, a partner at Fisher German, said, “Being part of a project of this scale and importance is something we’re incredibly proud of. H2East represents a real shift in how energy infrastructure can support both industry and the transition to a lower carbon future, and our teams are excited to play a role in helping it move forward. Projects such as this rely on careful collaboration with landowners, stakeholders, and delivery partners. Bringing together our expertise across land rights, referencing, and valuation allows us to support Worley and Cadent in a way that is both practical and sensitive to the communities and businesses affected.”
As the project moves forward, Fisher German will work with partners like SLR Consulting, Murphy, and Camargue.
