Enapter AG, which is based out of Hamburg, Germany, is pursuing its already stated realignment toward an asset-light business model through the start of AEM electrolyzer stack manufacturing in China with new manufacturing partner Runqing Hydrogen Technology Co., Ltd. from Shenzhen. Runqing Hydrogen Technology Co., Ltd. is a member of the Runshihua Group, one of the leading cleantech companies located in China. The first stacks for megawatt-range electrolyzers from Enapter have been built and are ready for shipping. When the present ramp-up phase is over, the target production output should be reached within a few weeks with the possibility of scaling the available capacity according to demand.
Runqing manufactures Enapter’s stacks to the required quality and at scalable volumes in the state-of-the-art and highly automated production facilities of the Runshihua Group. The group has got a deep hydrogen expertise and has gone ahead and established itself as an innovative player when it comes to industrial decarbonization.
In addition to going ahead with AEM electrolyzer stack manufacturing in China, Enapter is also expanding partner manufacturing in China, which will decrease fixed costs for the company, and also anticipates that the lower fixed cost base will have a positive impact on earnings development from 2027.
